ABOUT 1 HOUR OUT OF LOS TESTIGOS BOUND FOR PORLAMAR, BOARDED BY 5 ARMED MEN IN PIROGUE FROM THE SOUTH, WHO TIED & BLINDFOLDED CAPTAIN. DEMANDED MONEY, STRIPPED BOAT INCLUDING SNORKEL GEAR.

Feb 2008 (We stayed here for 3 days!)

BOARDED BY 5 MEN WITH GUNS; CAPTAIN SHOT IN STOMACH; WIFE SCREAMED & ATTRACTED ATTENTION; FISHERMAN APPLIED TOURNIQUET & RUSHED CAPTAIN TO PORLAMAR HOSPITAL

August 2010 (Other side of the Island went to for customs)

MAN FOUND SHOT TO DEATH ON YACHT; POLICE SUSPECT ROBBERY; 6 SEPT - 4 ARRESTED, TWO LAPTOPS FOUND IN ONE SUSPECT'S HOME.

The chat on the ground about the last one was that it was police that shot this guy. Laptops found at one suspects home? From some of the stories I heard, I wouldn't be surprised if they had been planted. Venezuela = Corruption.
