Met office sextant captain

Some people consider crossing the Atlantic early July as suicide as it's the start of hurricane season. Doubly mad when you consider that the boat was a Fountaine Pajot (Cajot in french means cardboard box).

Anyhow to equalize this madness the owners hired a professional captain with a degree in meteorology, he also once worked with the met office. After skining my leg (see previous post) it was an uphill struggle to convince him that I had any sailing experience.

No hurricanes, just a few big rain clouds and loads of easy wind and sunshine. Dust blown over the sea from the Sahara appeared to stifle the generation of hurricanes and produced some interesting colours.

Jumped in 500miles off the North East coast of South America where it was 4km deep. It's usually a safe thing to do...everyone but me got stung by a pretty extreme jelly fish. One of the guys got a tentacle wrapped around his body! It was class; I offered to pee on him.
